The short version

Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you click one and sign up or buy something, the company may pay us a commission. It costs you nothing extra, and it never changes a number any calculator shows you — the math engine has no idea the links exist.

The rules we follow

• Every affiliate surface is visually distinct from editorial content and labelled as a paid partnership.
• We never make savings claims on behalf of a partner. What a service can do for you is its own to explain and yours to evaluate.
• No affiliate links appear on the letter generator, the charity-care screener, or the case tracker. Someone mid-crisis drafting a hardship letter is not a sales opportunity.
• We are never paid to alter calculator results, rankings, or the reference data — all of which carry their official sources on the page.

How this site actually makes money

Display ads (Google AdSense), the affiliate links described above, and — eventually — paid printable products like the Letter Pack. Not by selling data: your balances and letter drafts never leave your browser, so there is nothing to sell.
